What kind of wax are the candles made of?
Each candle is made of a high-quality blend of coconut soy wax, clean burning cotton wicks and paraffin free fragrance oils.
How do I get the best burn from my candle?
For the best burn, let your candle melt to the edges on the first light (2–4 hours) to prevent tunneling. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use, and keep burns to 3–4 hours max. Always place your candle on a stable, heat-safe surface away from drafts, and allow it to fully cool before relighting. A little care goes a long way toward a cleaner, longer-lasting, beautifully fragrant burn.
What’s the proper way to extinguish a candle?
The cleanest way to extinguish a candle is to gently dip the wick into the melted wax with a wick dipper or tool, then straighten it again, this avoids smoke and helps prime the wick for the next burn. Alternatively, you can use a snuffer to smother the flame without splattering wax. Think of extinguishing as part of the ritual. Quiet, clean, and intentional.
Why is there wax left on the sides of my jar?
What you’re seeing is called “wax hang-up,” and it’s totally normal, especially with coconut soy wax. This type of wax is known for its clean, slow burn, but it can cling to the sides of the jar in the early stages. As your candle burns down and the flame generates more heat inside the vessel, the wax will usually “catch up” and melt evenly by the halfway point. To help things along, always let the wax pool reach the edges of the jar on the first few burns (2–4 hours). It’s a slow-burn love story, and patience pays off.
How do I burn my candle safely?
Always burn your candle within sight and away from anything, curtains, books, and pets included. Keep it on a heat-safe, level surface, out of reach of children and drafts. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn to prevent high flames or soot and never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains to avoid overheating the container. Let the wax fully cool before moving or relighting. A little mindfulness makes for a safer, longer-lasting, and more beautiful burn.
For the Best Burn
To preserve its scent, structure, and slow, even flame, a bit of care ensures your experience is as refined as the fragrance itself.
Allow the first burn to melt the wax evenly to the vessel’s edge to prevent tunneling. Always trim the wick to ¼ inch before lighting to ensure a clean, steady flame. Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, and limit each session to two to four hours for optimal scent and longevity. Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time.
Extinguish gently with a snuffer or by dipping the wick into the melted wax and let it cool before relighting.
When only a quarter inch of wax remains, extinguish the candle, let cool and dispose of vessel, failing to do so can overheat the vessel and cause it to break.
