The Chandler Behind the Flame

I’m Kristi, chandler, scent romantic, and unapologetic olfactive obsessive. I’ve followed my nose across continents, down dusty bookshop aisles, through spice markets, mossy forests, and the occasional antique store that smelled too good to leave. It's my most sentimental sense and my most expensive habit.

Leitmotif was born from this deep love of fragrance and its strange, magical ability to conjure entire worlds in a breath. To me, scent is memory, emotion, and atmosphere distilled. Through each candle, I try to bottle those fleeting moments: a citrus tree thick with blossom, the flicker of firelight on old wood, perfume oil from a bazaar in Turkey, a monsoon rushing in about to raise hell.

Originally from the deserts of Arizona, I’ve wandered a lot, collected stories in old cities, open air, and mountain pines. I have a West Coast vibe, a Midwest heart, an East Coast soul, and a suitcase always half-packed and my passport nearby.

Now nestled in an old colonial home that hums with history, I craft each candle in the spirit of story, mood, and mischief with luxury ingredients and a reverence for the lively, sensory things in life.
